Over the past several years, Infinity Plastics, LLC has been a leading manufacturer of polyethylene encasement film for corrosion protection of ductile iron pipe. We are pleased to announce an even more effective product to provide better corrosion protection and inhibit the growth of dangerous microorganisms.

WHAT ARE MICROORGANISMS?

Microorganisms are microscopic forms of life. While many microorganisms can be beneficial, many others are pathogens, disease causing bacteria and fungi.

WHAT ARE ANTIMICROBIALS (BIOCIDES)?

Antimicrobials (biocides) are materials which can inhibit the growth of microorganisms. This additive impedes the growth of bacteria on product surfaces, greatly reducing product deterioration.

WHY USE Antimicrobial/VCI Polyethylene Encasement Film?

Microorganisms can contaminate product surfaces and can promote unhygienic conditions or cause changes or deterioration on product surfaces. Antimicrobial/VCI Polyethylene Encasement Film is a safe way to deliver microbe fighting to your product surface along with volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) without any additional modifications to your product. The volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI), through vapor emmittance, counteracts the corrosive effects of moisture, salt and pollutants. Antimicrobial/VCI Polyethylene Encasement Film does not have to come in direct contact to protect the metal surface. The “vapors” travel to all portions of the enclosure. The additives in Antimicrobial/VCI Polyethylene Encasement Film are not a coating, but an integral component of the film. Antimicrobial/VCI Polyethylene Encasement Film meets all of the requirements of the ANSI/AWWA C105/A21.5 specifications for polyethylene encasement.
